Junction, a village located next to the Kluane
National Park in the southwest portion of the Yukon.
Known to locals as “the Junction,” this village offers visitors several services
and attractions including the Kluane
National Park Visitor Information Centre and the St.
Elias Convention Centre. Both include displays and exhibits on the region
and provide information on trails, facilities and backcountry travel. Several
tour operators in the region offer guided tours and adventure trips including
hiking, biking, canoeing, kayaking and fishing. Accommodations
in the area include hotels/motels, B&Bs, cabins and campgrounds, meeting the needs
of all types of travellers. Dog sled races and music festivals including the Alsek
Music Festival keep Yukoners entertained year-round. Situated on the juction
of Haines Road and the Alaska
Highway, Haines Junction is the ideal destination for wilderness recreation
and fun.
